Dodge Demon

In April 2017, one of the biggest steps in automotive history was made. The reveal of the 2018 Dodge SRT Demon. If you don't know what the Dodge Demon is, it is the first street legal drag car. It is the fastest production car ever made. The Demon comes with a supercharged 6.2L Hemi srt demon v8 engine making 840 horsepower and 770 foot pounds of torque. It also has a trans-brake and drag radial tires. This car is an out of the box drag car that is street legal. It already broke records and it hasn't even been released to the public. First wheelie by a production car, fastest acceleration of any production car, and worlds fast ¼ mile production car, highest horsepower from a production car, highest G-force by a production car, world's fast 0-60 production car. This monster of a car can do a quarter mile in 9.65 seconds at 140mph. The demon is so fast for its time that it has already been banned from NHRA dragstrips. It only cost 85,000 for an out of the box drag car.
This car hasn't even been released yet and the demand for this car is so high so many people want this brand new car. People are selling there Dodge hellcats to get money for the Demon. Something like the Demon has never been done before. Its high in Demand since it is so new and never seen before. But also that comes opportunity cost is it worth it to spend 85,000 on a car. This car even got banned from the drag strip already. The NHRA has banned the dodge demon from competition for being unsafe.NHRA said “you pushed too far with this car you did too much” So is the Dodge Demon really worth the price.
Is there really a market for this car? Yes, there is a market but not a very big one. The market for the demon is not very large but there is one. The demand for this car is for mainly street/drag car. But now that it is banned from the NHRA dragstrips it's just a street car now. The demand for the demon is so high, people are trying to go to any dodge dealership to get on the waiting list. These people haven't even driven the car and they want it so bad. The united states is getting 3,000 dodge demons and in canada only 300. This means the price will go from 85000 and increase because how little there is.
Is ford going to answer back? No one knows yet if Ford will try to beat the demon. It has been seen in the past of Ford and Dodge trying to beat one another. Two years ago Dodge released the SRT Hellcat version of the Dodge Challenger making 707 horsepower. To take over the market from the Shelby GT500 producing 660 horsepower. Chevy has already answered back in a way. Chevy and Hennessey released the Exorcist that could take a lot of potential demon buyers to buy the Exorcist. The opportunity cost is big you can get the Demon or the Exorcist. The Dodge Demon is going to make a huge impact on the car world and boost the economy for the car market.

Though the Dodge Demon may have taken what seems like a huge step forward in the automotive world, it really depends on what you're looking for. By producing a car that has already reached its full potential, Dodge is selling this car to a limited car. A base starting price of $84,995 is a lot of money compared to other competitors and as you add options, that price is only going up. Dodge is selling this car more to the market of older and/or rich people. A lot of the car scene is made up of people modding or working on their cars to make them how they want, but by producing a car at this price and build, there's not much a person can do to change it. Like the corvette, the Demon will fall into a stereotype of who is buying and driving the car and will be unappealing to a lot of car enthusiasts. Dodge took a step forward in the performance of production vehicles, but is feeding a small market.

DeleteHi I'am Evelyn Russell resident at 808 NE 19th St Oklahoma City, I am a single mother blessed with 2 daughters. For a while now I have been searching for a genuine loan lender who could help me with a loan as I no longer have a job, all I got were hoodlums who made me trust them and at the end they took my money without giving me any loan, my hope was lost, I got confused and frustrated, it became difficult for my family to feed with a good meal, I never wanted to have anything to do with any loan lending companies on the internet again. Not until I met a Godsent loan lender that changed my life and that of my family Through the help of a fellowship member "a lender with the fear of God in him Mr JASON RAYMOND, he was the man God sent to elevate my family from suffering. At first I thought it wasn’t going to be possible due to my previous experience until I received my loan worth $135,000.00 USD in less then 24hours. The production of this new Dodge Challenger, which will be made in the US, will boost our real GDP and increase competition in the marketplace. As you have stated, Dodge and Ford have been neck-to-neck trying to win over this segment. With production of the Demon, Ford will also be forced into the development of their own drag strip ready muscle car. Competition in the marketplace creates more production and more employment, which all increases the economy. This new Demon with 840 HP will wear down tires like it is nothing. This will help tire companies make more profit as well as aftermarket.
ReplyDeleteWhen the demon is released to the public, the street value of the car will sky rocket. In my opinion this is the best car release by a company in years. The Demon is already in one of the top movies out The Fate of the Furious and has been breaking the car internet before it's even released. This car should help Dodge out a lot with their income and even help with more publicity.
ReplyDeleteBecause the price is so high, you won't see very many people driving this car. although when it will be released to the public, it will boost our GDP and increase competition in the marketplace. With all the awards it has got from first wheelie, worlds fastest 0-60, or the fastest 1/4 mile, it had a lot of heads from different companies turning in it's direction, especially ford, because they are big rivals. What this means is that ford will have to create a drag ready muscle car of its own.
ReplyDeleteI've heard of this car before on social media sites and it definitely seems like a pretty cool vehicle. One thing that I have seen is that for the price, it is actually a pretty good deal because other cars that can compare with the Demon cost much more. It is pretty unpractical for the average person to buy this car, so it will be in high demand with car gurus and such.
ReplyDeleteWhat Dodge has been able to achieve with the Dodge Demon is like nothing we've seen before. At a price point of 85,000 the Dodge Demon generates 840HP and goes 0-60 in 2.3 seconds, their are 1.3 million dollar exotic super cars that can't achieve the same speed. The Dodge Demon is truly and engineering marvel of a car and will surely jump start a new wave of hyper production cars with other car brands struggling to compete.
ReplyDeleteThe dodge demon although having a ton of horsepower, takes away much of the fun that comes with having a muscle car. By the time people get through with their car, they will be spending upwards of 100k with all of the custom parts which they will add. As far as I see, this should be compared to the Ford Raptor. Those who want a true race car could build a much better one for the price, and the Raptor cannot be considered a true off-roading truck, as the owner will need to lift it and at that point, replace all of the parts which made it different from a standard f-150 anyways. I assume the same issues will come with the dodge demon. In order to comply with the laws which car manufacturers must comply to, the vehicle will not be built to its maximum potential and to fix this, the owner will add the new parts, removing many of the ones which made this car different from a standard challenger. People will still buy the vehicle, but more so to get the look of the car, and then will continue to build it as with modern vehicles it is not difficult to squeeze out upwards of 1000 hp in comparison to the demons 840.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with Dodge is their inability to market a big audience. And the same is so with the Dodge Demon. Most people that are into cars don't have $85,000 to spend on a car, and for that they lack a good market for the average working class individual. Second, the car is not suitable for the average driver, the Demon has 840 hp, and is geared towards the market for dragstrip lovers and die hard dodge fans, but as a regular everyday car, lacks the ability to suit street needs. It has no backseat, it has an engine that may be fast, and way overpowered, but again, between the price point as well as the build of the car, it is not street friendly. Second, with NHRA banning its use, and a heated debate surrounding whether it should be legal or not, it seems to be a flop for Dodge. Those in the market for a fast car will look at the Demon, like it, and then sigh at the price point, and opt for other options from competition....at least in terms of the small market that they do brand this towards. #rice is nice
ReplyDeleteI don’t want to pick the negatives out of a positive situation however I feel like besides driving the car how else will it be enjoyed? Since it’s band from drag strips where will someone use it to it’s full potential? Ya someone could go 120 down a backroad but that runs multiple risks. Because the demon is already a prettying insane car no one will need to modify anything which for some people is half the fun. I would like to see the type of people that buy this car because as of right now I can not narrow it down to who would buy it.
ReplyDeleteWith the price point so high for the vehicle, it will only appeal to a very limited luxury market that is currently being occupied by various other foreign cars. With that I don't feel that dodge is bringing enough to the table with the Demon to make enough headway in this market, and unfortunately I don't see a vary large market for this car.
ReplyDeleteI love Dodge. This car looks fantastic and puts out a tremendous amount of muscle. It reminds me of its seventies roots and adds a modern look. I would love nothing more than for Chevy and Ford to punch back with cars like this. In addition to this, Dodge is also making other interesting Muscle Car decisions like create a 4- wheel drive Dodge Challenger. Keep up the good work Dodge.
ReplyDeleteHungry for some crazy driving? Maybe you want to see an enraged car break some speed records too. Now let me amaze you with a truly enraged car, a Dodge Demon, the one which was gifted to me by my boss. But, I don’t want it to just stay in my hands, I want to put it to the test. That’s I will hand it to some famous drivers who will get it to its full potential. You probably also can’t wait to see it join violent street races with other cars. It’s only a matter of few months before this demon arrives home, so stay close.
ReplyDeleteI agree that your point on how not many are being produced, but I don't believe the price will go up. I get that people are itching to get these cars, but not many will pay more than the original sale price just for a street car. They could easily get a lowered price car and mod it to get the performance to suit their needs.
