Wrestle Mania 30

Today I am going to be writing
about the amazing streak that had lasted 21 years of wrestle mania wins. Yes, I
know what you are all saying right now why someone in highschool is watching a
scripted show about wrestling. Well my dad loves it and he wanted to watch it
and I hadn’t been watching it for a while so I said why not.
If you haven’t already figured out
that I was talking about The Undertaker and his amazing 21-0 streak at
wrestle mania, you are in for a surprise because at wrestle mania 30 his streak
had fallen. Yes, that is right he is now 21-1, the un-thinkable has happened he
had finally lost. As a kid I had always thought that he would just retire after
a while because of his older age of 49 years old.
The week before Wrestle Mania
everyone goes out to the stores and buys there latest clothing and memorabilia
of their favorite WWE super stars. When a streak like The Undertakers
ended everyone is devastated, now that this has happened the WWE cannot advertise
his streak on his memorabilia anymore. Which they could lose money on but not
advertising it anymore. With the WWE not being able to make money on “The
Undertaker 21-0” and so on shirts or anything they will be losing money. The
money made from Wrestle Mania comes from the merchandise and the tickets sold.
Wrestle Mania is the Super Bowl of wrestling so every penny counts for this
event.
Now that one of the most famous
superstars has lost his streak some people are going to stop watching for he
was their favorite because of how good he was. Now that he is gone the WWE will
have to find another way to have a large money maker of a wrestler such as The
Undertaker. WWE knows that they will need to find something that will be
capable of bringing in as much money as The Undertaker was able to.
As some may know that the WWE is a
multi-million dollar company. This comes from tickets sold, t-shirts and other
merchandise. Now with one of the biggest names of a superstar having losing his
amazing streak, some money will be lost. The fact from him being such an old
and unstoppable superstar is what made him loved by fans. Now that he lost,
some fans are devastated and lost interest in the show; causing the WWE to lose
fans and money.
With the WWE now losing some fans
and money they will need to find another way to keep the same income as before
if not better than before. They may have made the choice of him losing to show
that he is leaving sometime in the future or it was to show realism that people
doubt in the show.
All in all, Wrestle Mania will be
losing some money now with the loss of one of the biggest names in all of
wrestling. Merchandise will be dropped down and ticket sales will be dropped
down unless somebody can fulfill the spot that The Undertaker had in the
hearts of many.
I would have had no idea about anything having to do with wrestling and the economy if you hadn't bridged the gap the way you did. It makes a lot of sense when something you can advertise such as a streak suddenly and unexpectedly ends. I'm sure since WWE isn't the biggest sport in the USA it isn't the biggest hit to the economy but in terms of their sales as a sport it is going to be a little difficult to find something else to advertise and continue to profit as a business. Scripted wrestling has never been my thing but it should be interesting to see what they use as advertisement for upcoming events.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is true that since his streak has ended that they will start to lose money and viewers. Yet one cant be able to explain how many other superstars there are and how many people will still watch. There are many other people have come to love and watch. Just by one person being gone wont effect them as much as one thinks. This is due to they are always finding a way to make it better and interesting for the viewers to stay.
ReplyDeleteJust because the streak has ended does not mean that millions of viewers will not still tune into this crazy event. Yes the streak is over but it still doesn't mean that fans will just quit watching because of that. WWE fans are some of the most loyal fans in the world and just want to see quality entertainment not matter who is competing in the match. I still expect Wrestle Mania to be a huge success in the coming years and keep raking in tons of money. And who knows, maybe someone else will start a new streak for fans to be excited about.
ReplyDeleteWrestle Mania will definitely still bring in millions of fans and money because it is a time where people tune into this crazy event, although it is staged. I still don't understand how "The Undertaker" won so many times, if the wrestling is fake, but either way he still was 21-0, but lost his streak. There are other WWE wrestler's that are popular to viewer's, which bring in lots of fans. This was a good topic to write about, because scripted wrestling doesn't seem like one of the most watched shows. I don't think that they will loose a lot of money because of this loss.
ReplyDeleteAren't they making money off of the show too. they should be making money off of the number of people who watch the show and come to see it live. Is WWE making any effort to show off that whoever won against the undertaker is popular now. They could become the new star of the show. They could start selling things about him. Why are people losing interest to a twist in the show. If the show has finally changing its routine, then why are people suddenly uninterested in the show?
ReplyDeleteEven though his winning streak has fallen, the WWE will still be making money. Especially now that there is a new competitor in town and everyone will be trying to see which wrestler is on top now. They could start making money off of merchandise made about the new winning who beat the undertaker. I do not believe that wrestle mania is the most watched show on television, but I believe that wrestle mania will still be a success in the future.
